Rohnert Park, CA - The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Sonoma State University (SSU) announced that alumnus and watchmaking impresario, Justin Eterovich, is gaining traction in the world of limited edition luxury brands with Blacklist Watches, automotive-inspired timepieces designed by Eterovich and manufactured in Switzerland. The company boasts sales of more than $125,000 in its first 12 months of operation and expects to double that number in the coming year. Eterovich graduated Cum Laude from SSU in 2015 and occasionally returns to campus to share his story with new business students.
"There would be no Blacklist if I had gone to any other school. At first, my SSU application was denied because I was missing one math class. But they saw something in me and believed in me, and granted me conditional entry," Justin Eterovich, Owner of Blacklist Watches said. "So I started Blacklist as a student and every time I learned a new skill or concept in class, whether resolving an issue with suppliers, distribution, accounting, or a current marketing campaign, I could apply it immediately to the business. This was a huge advantage and a contributing factor to my success."
"Justin's company is a great example of the innovation that our business courses inspire and support. We always appreciate hearing about students' new ventures. They show an entrepreneurial spirit that helps us fulfill our mission to create extraordinary learning experiences, and our vision to be the educational catalyst for a thriving economy," Dr. Karen Thompson, Managing Director of Academic Programs and Chair of the Business Administration Department said.
