Rohnert Park, California - The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Sonoma State University (SSU) today announced the involvement of six faculty and administrators in the Sustainable Enterprise Conference taking place April 7 at Sonoma Mountain Village in Rohnert Park. In addition to SBE faculty and administration, members of SSU's Department of Environmental Studies and Center for Environmental Inquiry will also facilitate workshop sessions. SBE offers undergraduate and graduate courses focused on sustainability issues.
"Our students are taught core values of social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic prosperity from a triple bottom line perspective. Business environments rarely measure success in terms of long‐term profitability and sustainable use of natural resources. That's why our graduates have the tools to build a business case for adopting environmental and community-based practices. Support of this conference and the dialogue it generates is key to preparing leaders for a sustainable future," William S. Silver, Dean of the School of Business and Economics said.
Recent SBE faculty publications on the topic of sustainability include The Good Company by Dr. Robert Girling, Professor of Business, and Crafting Sustainable Wine Businesses by Dr. Armand Gilinsky, Korbel Professor of Wine Business, both of whom will be facilitating workshop sessions during the conference.
