Brigitta obtained her undergraduate degree with a concentration in Wine Business Strategies in three and a half years. How did she do it? She took 22 units her Freshman year and online courses.
She still found the time to attend the SBE Career Expo and Spring Mixer, and work at Charter Oak Winery as an assistant winemaker for David Sanucci. Much of her motivation comes from knowing that her grandparents' experience during the Holocaust deprived them of the opportunities that she enjoys today.
Initially, Brigitta was on a Pre-Law track and changed to wine business. A primary influence was Ian Cauble '03, Founder of SommSelect, who is a family friend.
"Undergraduates stress about what they're going to get their degree in. Don't worry about that. Take classes, put in the work, get the units and get your degree," Brigitta said.
Brigitta wanted to have a jump start before enrolling in the Wine Business Strategies concentration so she reached out to wineries in Southern California, and started getting wine business experience before arriving at SSU. She worked three days a week picking and spraying grapes and assisted with events at Giracci Vineyards and Newport Beach Vineyards.
Brigitta currently works for Wine Warehouse as a sales representative for the Northern California region. She enjoys being involved in bringing in foreign wines and likes working in distribution. She wants to continue at the local level before moving on to international distribution.
Brigitta is also studying for the GMAT and plans to apply for the Sonoma Wine MBA program at Sonoma State University. Good luck!
